Note*   Anna Maria Wilch was at one time erroneously identified as the wife of Johann Christian Mennel (ID #745). This error was corrected (15 Aug 2005) by changing Johann Christian's wife to Anna Maria Rindfleisch. The error originated with the marriage record of Johann Christian to Anna Maria (Film #1632072, 24 Oct 1770), where Anna Maria's deceased husband, Johann Wilch, was thought to be her father instead.

Here is an example of how one can run into problems using only a limited amount of data. There was another Anna Maria Wilch born on 31 Jul 1731, and her father was also named Johann Tobias Wilch. There is no way to tell for sure which is the wife of Johann Christian Mennel. However, since the latter was born in 1731, she would have been 50 years old when her son Johann Michael was born. For this reason it seems improbable that she is the Anna Maria of this genealogy.
