     Anna Elisabetha Kraus was probably born between 1678 and 1682, based on the fact that her parents were married in 1677 and she was married in 1700. However, a birth record for an Anna Elisabetha Kraus? was recorded in Meisenheim on 16 Apr 1665. The father was Caspar Kraus? and the mother was Margaretha. Heide Lange of Germany (see files) is using this as the birth of "our" Anna Elisabetha Kraus, which she is spelling Krauth. It remains to be proven as to which is the correct one.      Another birth record for an Anna Elisabetha Kraus? was recorded in Meisenheim on 16 Apr 1665. The father was Caspar Kraus?? and the mother was Margaretha. This is assumed to be the Elisabetha Barbara Krauß that Married Johann Heinrich Weigold. Her father's name is the only common element that we have to go on.

     Elisabetha Barbara Krauss's LDS Familysearch Family Tree ID is: L8R9-43J. I found Elisabetha because she was listed as the mother of the groom in the record of marriage for Jacob Weigold.

Krauss is found in the records spelled as Krauß; either spelling is correct.

With the original birth records for each child is listed the total number of births for the parents and the number of children of the same sex as the recorded birth. From this information it can be determined that Heinrich and Elisabetha had three more girls whose birth records have not yet been found. One would have been born between Anna and Eva and the other two would have been born between Eva and Johann Peter.

Johann Michael and Eva both died as babies, but the dates were unreadable. Anna died at an age of 11 days, and Johann Peter just short of his 31st. birthday.

The year of Elisabetha Barbara's death was noted in the margin of her birth record.

     Herbert Krauss was born on 14 January 1926 at Roth, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. He married Elli Stibitz, daughter of Karl Stibitz and Friederike Schwarz. Herbert Krauss died on 9 October 1973 at Meisenheim, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, at age 47.

He married Maria Eleonora Weigold, daughter of Johann Friedrich Weigold and Maria Barbara Brückmann, on 10 January 1765 at Auerbach, Hessen, Germany; Marriage was recorded in the Auerbach Lutheran Church Marriage Register; Page: 603; Date: 10 Jan 1765; Groom: Johann Tobias Krauss (Father: Johann Friedrich Krauss); Bride: Anna Eleonora Weigold (Father: Friedrich Weigold).

Note: This marriage record gives the bride's name as Anna Eleonora Weigold. However, no birth record of an Anna Eleonora Weigold could be found, and a birth of a Maria Eleonora Weigold, daughter of Friedrich Weigold, was record on 11 Sep 1747. All the births attributed to the marriage of Anna Eleonora Weigold and Friedrich Krauss show the mother to be Maria Eleonora. As no birth records of children of Anna Eleonora and Friedrich Krauss have been found, it is assumed that this marriage record was in error in stating the Bride as Anna Eleonora instead of Maria Eleonora. Johann Tobias Krauss died on 31 May 1795 at Auerbach, Hessen, Germany, at age 55.
     Krauss is found in the records spelled as Krauß; however, either spelling is correct.
